Blackjack is a card game where the goal is to get a hand value as close to 21 as possible without going over. You play against the dealer, and the player with the hand closest to 21 wins.

How to Play

Select a chip value by clicking on a chip from the chip selection area
Place your bet by clicking the "Place Bet" button
Click the "Deal" button to start the game
You and the dealer each receive two cards (one of the dealer's cards is face down)
Decide whether to "Hit" (take another card), "Stand" (keep your current hand), or "Double Down" (double your bet and receive one more card)
If your hand exceeds 21, you "bust" and lose your bet
After you stand, the dealer reveals their face-down card and hits until they have 17 or more
If the dealer busts, you win; otherwise, the hand closest to 21 wins

Card Values

Number cards (2-10) are worth their face value
Face cards (Jack, Queen, King) are worth 10
Aces are worth 1 or 11, whichever is more favorable
A "soft" hand contains an Ace counted as 11
A "hard" hand contains no Aces, or Aces counted as 1

Game Actions

Hit - Take another card to increase your hand value
Stand - Keep your current hand and end your turn
Double Down - Double your bet and receive exactly one more card
Double Down is only available on your first two cards

Payouts

Regular Win - 1:1 (you win the amount you bet)
Blackjack - 3:2 (a natural 21 with your first two cards)
Push - Your bet is returned (tie with the dealer)
